Irish actor Jason O’Mara (Terra Nova) has been cast in CBS’ forthcoming Ralph Lamb pilot. The Dubliner will join an all-star cast that includes Dennis Quaid, Michael Chiklis and Carrie-Anne Moss, according to Deadline. The as-yet-untitled project has been scripted by Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas) and is set in 1960s Las Vegas. It will be directed by James Mangold (Walk The Line, Cop Land).
O’Mara (39), who starred in the US version of ‘Life In Mars’, joins the project two weeks after 20th Century Fox pulled the plug on ‘Terra Nova’, the Steven Spielberg-produced prehistoric drama. Although Fox and Netflix are reportedly still in talks about rescuing the show for a second series, O’Mara has left the project.
The Ralph Lamb pilot is based on the true story of Lamb, a rodeo cowboy turned longtime Sheriff of Las Vegas. Lamb will be played by Quaid, while, O’Mara will play Ralph’s younger brother Frank. Chiklis has been cast as a mob fixer.
