Eoin Macken joins Cantwell's 'The Callback Queen'
19 Jan 2012 : By Ciara Drohan
Prince of Chaos
Irish actor Eoin Macken (Merlin, Centurion) has joined the cast of Irish director Graham Cantwell’s (Trapped, Anton) latest film ‘The Callback Queen’ with only days to go before the film wraps.

The independent film, follows ambitious actress Kate Loughlin played by Amy Joyce Hastings (The Guards, The Tudors), who is on the cusp of her big break when she lands an audition for the lead role in a massive movie franchise, based on the 'Prince of Chaos' novels by legendary author Horatio King. Macken stars alongside Hastings, Ger Ryan (RAW, Intermission) and Sean T. O’Meallaigh (Seacth, Kings) and appears in a scene which are described by the director as ‘a film within a film’. He plays the character Prince Cal in a ‘Prince of Chaos’ sequence.

Speaking about working on the film Macken said, "It has been a pleasure being aboard the film as I've always wanted to work with Graham, he's a good friend and a very talented filmmaker."

Speaking about the latest shoot Graham told IFTN, “I am delighted to have finally gotten the chance to work with Eoin. We have known each other for years so it was great to get on set together. Eoin was the one who recommended Dolbadarn Film Horses to us, from his work on 'Merlin'. The scenery in Snowdonia is stunning so we're very happy with how the footage is looking. We have just two more days to shoot in February then we are all done filming.”

The 'Prince of Chaos' footage was shot in Snowdonia, North Wales. The film is written and directed by Graham Cantwell. Director of Photography on the project is Anthony Bowes (Limbo, Creamy Love). Its Executive Producer is Stephen Gibson (A Tain Darkness Descends, I Am Spoon).

An offline edit of the film is already complete and the grade will take place in Ireland. Lime Street Sound are on board to do the sound design and mix. Final stages of post will begin once the fine edit is completed in March.
