Director Steph Green (New Boy, Push Hands), has received €310,000 in support for her much anticipated feature film debut ‘Run and Jump’ from Eurimages.
Eurimages announced the decision of their next round of funding yesterday. The decisions came from 125th meeting of the board of management which took place in Paris at the weekend.
The feature was written by Irish author Ailbhe Keogan (Molly & the Cyclops) and will be a co-production between Samson Films in Ireland and Bavaria Pictures in Germany. Run and Jump is an original screenplay by Ailbhe Keogan to be directed by Steph Green (Oscar nominated for New Boy) who also co-wrote the script. Set in Kerry, the story revolves around the Casey family. When her husband, Conor, returns home after suffering a stroke that has left him with the personality of a child, a spirited Irish woman, Vanetia Casey, struggles to rebuild her family while finding comfort in an American researcher, Ted Fielding, who is sent to study her husband's new condition.
The film is being produced by Tamara Anghie (Belonging to Laura, Peacefire) and executive produced by Martina Niland (Grabbers, Snap) and David Collins (Gabbers, The Moth Diary). It was selected for both the Sundance Screenwriters Lab and the Berlin Script Station in 2010. More news on the project will be available in the new year.
Last month, ‘Run and Jump’ also received €600,000 offer of funding from the Irish Film Board.
