'Broken' written by Mark O’Rowe and starring Cillian Murphy Enters Post

‘Broken’, a low budget BBC film production whose screenplay was adapted by Irish writer Mark O’Rowe and starring Irish actor Cillian Murphy (Perrier’s Bounty, Breakfast on Pluto) has gone into post production at Lipsync in London.

The film tells the story of Skunk Cunningham, an eleven year old girl living in North London with her older brother Jed played by Bill Milner, their father Archie and au pair Katya. Skunk witnesses a violent attack which brings chaos to her life.

Murphy will star alongside Tim Roth (Lie to Me, Pulp Fiction), Rory Kinnear (Quantum of Solace, Vexed), Robert Emms (War Horse, Anonymous), Zana Marjanovic (Snow, It’s Hard To Be Nice), Bill Milner (X-Men; First Class, Is Anybody There?) and first time actress Eloise Laurence as 11 year old Skunk .

‘Broken’ is the directorial debut from actor Rufus Norris and the screenplay was adapted by Mark O’Rowe (Perrier’s Bounty, Intermission) from the book by Daniel Clay. Director of Photography was Rob Hardy () using 335mm. It was shot on location in London from 7th October until late November.

‘Broken’ is expected to be broadcast in 2014.
