Production has begun on beActive’s new 6x30 factual TV series ‘The Club’. The series will continue to film in Dublin until November and will air on Setanta Sports in early 2012.
The 6x30 series, which is funded by the BAI, Setanta Sports and beActive, examines the lives on and off the pitch of the female players from Gaelic football Club Clondalkin GAA. The series is directed by Martin de Barra (Tart).
Series producer Triona Campbell (Aisling’s Diary) commented on the new show saying “This series is pure feel-good prime time TV. The women are inspirational and are battling both on the pitch and in their day-to-day lives against the types of issues we are all facing today. Simply put, we can guarantee with the people and the team involved that there will never be a dull moment and this will make addictive viewing!”
Editing on ‘The Club’ will be done by Eamonn Cleary (Modern Poverty, Hill Street) and post house is as of yet unconfirmed.
This is the second factual entertainment to be produced by beActive for Setanta Sports with four-part television series ‘Yes I can’ set to air on Setanta later this year. International sales on both series are being handled by beActive.
