A one-day intensive seminar on ‘The A-Z of Getting An Agent’ will take place on Saturday 13th August 2011 from 10am-6pm and will be hosted by talent agent Julian Benson.

The intensive seminar will see Julian Benson share his industry knowledge in an intensive training seminar which focuses on getting an agent and how to get the most out of your relationship with your agent. With over 25 years in the entertainment industry, Julian says the seminar will “reveal the reality of acting. There are things actors don’t know about and they are not told. I will be frank and honest with people. I want people to leave the seminar and feel they have learnt a lot.”

The seminar will cover content including finding the right agent, getting started, how to prepare, sealing the deal, auditions, interview techniques, the importance of communication, contract and negotiations and the international approach. “I want to try to let actors in the industry understand how the process works. I go into the whole negotiating and contractual part of the industry which a lot of actors don’t understand,” says Julian.

With only ten places on the seminar, it will be an intimate affair. “It will be one-to-one, everyone will get the attention and everyone will get their question answered.”

Julian Benson began his training in Western Australia at the Performing Arts School where he mastered the art of modern dance, jazz, tap, vocal production, musical theatre, ballet and Latin America. He has choreographed productions including ‘The Nutcracker’ with The Scottish Ballet Theatre (The Point Theatre) and ‘Sleeping Beauty’ at The Point Theatre, the ‘Crown Ball’ for HRH Princess Anne and Irish international show ‘Celtic Fusion’. Clients from Julian Benson Management have appeared in productions including ‘The Tudors’, ‘Hollyoaks’, ‘The Clinic’, ‘The L Word’ and ‘Stargate Atlantis’. JBM clients include Emmett Scanlan (Hollyoaks, Charlie Casanova), Sean McDonagh (Ros na Run) and Brian Ormond (Sing).

The seminar will take place on Sunday August 13th from 10am-6pm and will cost €95. For further information or to book a place on the seminar, call (01) 6764377
