The latest project from IFTA Winning filmmaker Cathy Brady (Small Change) is set to air on Channel 4, Monday 11 July at 11.10pm

The 30 minute drama was produced through the station’s COMING UP scheme which allows emerging filmmakers the opportunity to make an authored drama with a guaranteed network broadcast. Starring BAFTA winning actress Vicky McClure (This is England) and Lorraine Ashbourne (Oranges and Sunshine), the short follows a young woman on her release from prison who is forced to confront a painful past.

Helmed by Irish director Cathy Brady, who won the Short Film Award IFTA in 2011 for ‘Small Change’, the film was written by Laura Lomas with DOP Tim Palmer (Road to Coronation Street) shooting on the 7D camera on location in London.

Brady is a graduate of The National Film School at IADT, Dun Laoghaire and picked up the NFS/Film Base Award for Film & Television Production at the IADT Conferring in November 2010. She is currently studying her Masters at the National Film School in London.

‘Rough Skin’ is produced by John Chapman, Emma Burge and Tom Nash and was commissioned by Channel 4 and Touchpaper Television with the support of Northern Ireland Screen.

See it on Channel 4 Monday 11 July at 11.10pm
