The Bil Keating Centre is currently inviting applications to its course in Television Production, Direction and Presentation which will take place from February to April next year.
This studio based course is designed to cover all areas of television, with the majority of the training focused on multi-camera studio direction, presentation and the production of programmes for television from concept to broadcast.
Students interested in presentation will get an opportunity to learn from current presenters, benefit from workshops in front of camera and present their own programmes in a multi-camera studio during the practical training sessions.
Budding directors will get the chance to direct their own multi-camera programmes incorporating various elements in the making of a programme, including three cameras, videotape inserts, graphics, and sound/lighting cues. The course also covers other areas of television production, including research, camera work, floor management and vision mixing.
The course is designed to build the participants’ confidence and knowledge of television in their preferred subject. The Bil Keating Centre is not expecting students who feel they are the ’finished article’, and students can expect to be educated and encouraged with personal advice and guidance provided throughout.
The list of confirmed tutors includes floor manager Walter Harrington (Seoighe and O’Shea); director/producer Bil Keating (Murphy’s Micro-quism); researcher Margaret Martin (Léargas); producer/newsreader Michael Murphy (RTÉ Newscaster) and presenter Marty Whelan (Winning Streak).
The course commences on Saturday, February 20th 2010 at The Bil Keating Centre, Milltown Park, Sandford Road, Dublin 6. For further information log on to www.bilkeatingcentre.com or contact the Bill Keating office on +353 1 2196510.
