New Irish feature ‘A Film With Me In It’, written by Mark Doherty and directed by Ian Fitzgibbon, has been added to the Contemporary World Cinema lineup at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival (4 – 13 September 2008).
‘A Film With Me In It’ will receive its North American Premiere at the festival. The Irish pic is one of 58 films from 42 countries that have been selected to showcase the best of current international filmmaking.
Shot on location in Dublin from October – November 2007, the film stars Irish comedian Dylan Moran (Run Fat Boy Run, Shaun of the Dead), Amy Huberman (The Clinic) with Aisling O'Sullivan (The Clinic), Keith Allen (Robin Hood) and Mark Doherty, who also penned the script. The story follows Mark, a struggling actor, who has just been through the ordeal of yet another fruitless audition. With his girlfriend about to walk out and his landlord ready to evict him, Mark has only his friend Pierce and their joint ambition of writing a career-breaking film to keep him going.
Parallel Films’ Alan Moloney (Breakfast on Pluto, Intermission) produced with funding from the IFB. Director Fitzgibbon described the Toronto selection as “a great thrill and honour”. His latest project ‘Perrier’s Bounty’ is scheduled for filming later this year.
‘A Film With Me In It’ joins Lance Daly’s previously announced feature ‘Kisses’, which screens in the Toronto Vanguard strand.
