TG4 are seeking programme tenders for the feature length TV event ‘Gradam Ceoil 2009’, the annual gala concert and awards ceremony which celebrates the best in traditional Irish music and song.
’Gradam Ceoil’ is the biggest entertainment event in the TG4 programme schedule and provides a platform to celebrate the wealth and diversity of the country’s music and song. The event sees a panel of adjudicators nominate recipients in six musical categories: Ceoltóir óg TG4, Gradam an chumadóra, Amhránaí TG4, Gradam Saoil TG4, Gradam na gCeoltóirí and the overall award Gradam Ceoil TG4. Recipients of the annual awards are joined on stage by the biggest names in music in Ireland and abroad.
The concert will be recorded 'as live' in front of a large audience to be available for broadcast as a ninety minute feature programme on Easter Monday the 13th of April, 2009.
TG4 wish to bring an energetic and vibrant production approach using the highest production to Gradam Ceoil.
To tender for this production, a programme proposal should be submitted including the following details:
- A detailed outline on all that pertains to the subject matter, the structure and the treatment of both the concert on stage and the finished feature programme.
- An available venue and date should be advised (to be confirmed in association with TG4).
- A programme budget for a 90' programme.
- Key production and presentation personnel should be identified. Particular attention should be paid to the choice of director, presenters and key camera personnel.
- Gradam Ceoil takes place in some of the biggest concert venues around Ireland. The venue and date of next year's concert should be advised in the submission document.
Programme proposals should be submitted to Mary Ellen Ní Chualáin, Feidhmeannach Coimisiúnaithe, Rannóg na gClár, TG4 before 5 pm, 27 May, 2008.
