Lewis, Wilmot & Ryan Join ‘Dorothy Mills’ Cast
27 Jul 2007 :
Lewis in True North
UK actor Gary Lewis (Billy Elliot, Gangs of New York) joins Irish actors David Wilmot (The Clinic, Intermission) and Ger Ryan (Stardust) in rounding out the cast for the feature film ‘Dorothy Mills’, currently shooting in Ireland.

The psychological thriller follows a disturbed young woman - Dorothy Mills - who is suspected of assaulting a young baby in a rural village. She is visited by psychiatrist and outsider, Jane, who discovers that Dorothy may not be responsible for her actions and might be possessed by a horrifying and malevolent force.

Newcomer Jenn Murray has been cast as young Dorothy Mills opposite Dutch actress Carice Van Houten, who was previously announced to take the part of Jane Morton. Van Houten stars in ‘Dorothy Mills’ before shooting ‘Valkyrie’ with Tom Cruise in Germany and has been tipped to become the next Bond girl in ‘Bond 22’.

Brit actor Gary Lewis will also feature in the film alongside Irish stars David Wilmot, Ger Ryan and David Ganley. Gary Lewis recently starred in the Irish film ‘True North’ and has also appeared in films such as ‘Merry Christmas’, ‘Ae Fond Kiss’ and ‘Goal’. Ger picked up a Best Actress IFTA at this year’s awards for her work on ‘Stardust’ and was last seen on Irish screens in the TV movie ‘Damage’. Another IFTA winner, Tom Murphy, lines out with his ‘Pure Mule’ co-star Charlene McKenna in supporting roles.

‘Dorothy Mills’ is the latest project from French writer/director Anges Merlet (Artemisia, Le Fils du requin) and is a co-production between Irish company Octagon Films and French outfit Fidélité Productions. Principal photography commenced in late June and will continue until mid-August.
