Straywave Media is currently in production on the third series of its popular reality show ‘Celebrity Salon’ for TV3.
The series brings eight celebrities together where they must compete in various different salon-based tasks in order to be crowned ‘Best in Beauty’.
This year’s Irish contestants include model and Xposé presenter Glenda Gilson, Irish-born ‘Desperate Scousewives’ participant Layla Flaherty, Cork singer Havana, Irish model Nadia Forde and Northern Irish UTV presenter Julian Simmons. Other contestants include former ‘Brookside’ actor Philip Olivier (Tinhead), ex-‘Big Brother’ housemate Nikki Grahame, and ‘Geordie Shore’ participant Greg Lake.
This series will show the eight contestants in a new twist, where they will travel to luxurious spas in Wexford, Cork, Galway, Sligo and Dublin to train in beauty therapy.
David Coffey (Fade Street) is directing, with Straywave’s John Norton and Steve McCormack producing. Mark Boland (No Frontiers) is the director of photography.
Shooting will wrap on June 28, when Screen Scene’s Derek Holland (The Pool) and Martha Meyler (Operation Transformation) will take over for post-production duties.
Last year’s series saw TV3 presenter Alan Hughes (Family Fortunes) scoop the Best in Beauty prize, and the show received 3.4 million viewers overall.
Straywave previously brought RTÉ Two reality series ‘Fade Street’ to our screens, and ‘Brian and Pippa Get Married’, another reality show which charted model Pippa O’Connor and RTÉ presenter Brian Ormond’s journey to the altar.
Series three of ‘Celebrity Salon’ will air on TV3 in September.
