Dublin-based CR Entertainment has nabbed a nomination at the Kidscreen Awards in New York with the TV Movie, ‘Aisling’s Summer Diary’. The project will compete in the group of Best one-off, special or TV movie for Teens/ Tweens (ages 11 to 17) at the New York based awards ceremony.
The movie, originally broadcasted on RTÉ in January 2010, tells the Adventures of Aisling and her friends during the Summer Holidays. It is a spin off from the IFTA nominated ‘Aisling’s Diary’ series which has sold to ABC Australia and SVT in Sweden.
The International Kidscreen Awards looks to put the industry’s best work on high-profile display and are held at the Hilton Hotel in New York during the Kidscreen Summit. The Conference is the biggest north-American market for pre-school and Kids TV Programming.
‘Aisling’s Diary’ series producer, Triona Campbell commented on the nomination, saying: “The show proves to me that Irish television content, can cross borders and that there is not just a local but an international audience for these types of programs. The series is a sum of the incredible talent we have in Ireland and it wouldn’t have happened without the support of RTÉ Young Peoples so we are really hoping for a win in February so we can bring this award home for the team and prove that Ireland can and is producing world class Kids TV programming.”
The 2011 Kidscreen awards will take place between the 15th and 18th of February. For more information about the event visit http://awards.kidscreen.com
