RTÉ’s ‘Dragons’ Den’ will return for a second series to RTÉ One on Thursday 25th February at 10.15pm. This new eight-part series sees Irish entrepreneurial companies/individuals pitch an array of ideas at the Dragons; from Caribbean spice to Seaweed Liquor.
The same panel of five Dragons return for this year’s series; Sarah Newman, Gavin Duffy, Bobby Kerr, Sean Gallagher and Niall O’Farrell. The series will again be presented by Richard Curran, Deputy Editor of The Sunday Business Post.
The Dragons have already invested hundreds of thousands of Euros, and their time and energy, in last year’s successful candidates and these investments are starting to pay off.
Steve Carson, Director of Programmes, RTÉ Television, says: “We’re delighted to be bringing another series of Dragons’ Den to air. The series is particularly timely in the current climate, as it offers a real platform and genuine opportunities to new Irish businesses, as the success stories from the first series prove.”
Larry Bass, CEO of producers Screentime ShinAwiL comments: “The first series was a great success, showing that Irish people are natural entrepreneurs and risk takers. What makes the Irish series even more engaging is the Irish blarney, we are a nation of storytellers, this makes for very engaging personalities. We are delighted that both RTÉ and Bank of Ireland have shown faith in the series and we know that we have some fantastic new business ideas to share with the country.”
