Kirsten Sheridan, ‘Grabbers’ screenwriter Kevin Lehane, post-production house managing director Jim Duggan and producer Katie Holly are among the filmmakers set to take part in a series of industry discussions at next month’s Corona Cork Film Festival.
The festival, which was launched last week, is scheduled to take place over November 11-18 and will feature a host of screenings, including a premiere of Martin McDonagh’s ‘Seven Psychopaths’.
As part of the festival, a number of industry events will take place with a series of notable Irish film industry guests set to share their knowledge.
Director and writer Kirsten Sheridan will take part in a discussion at the Triskel Arts Centre on November 16. She will be joined by the cast of her upcoming feature, ‘Dollhouse’, to discuss the making of that feature and her upcoming projects.
Lehane will be in Cork on the same day when he will discuss writing his first feature as part of a Writers Panel at the Triskel Arts Centre. He will be joined by Will Collins (My Brothers), Gerard Barrett (Pilgrim Hill) and Audrey O’Reilly (In Loving Memory).
Following that event, Ken Wardrop (His and Hers), Phil Harrison (The Good Man) and Cathy Brady (Small Change) will take part in a Directors Panel, while a Producers & Distributors Panel will feature contributions from Sadhbh Murphy, Katie Holly, Macdara Kelleher and Siobhan Farrell (Eclipse Pictures TBC).
Other industry events include a post-production workshop with Screen Scene MD, Jim Duggan (November 15) and the festival’s industry fair on November 17, which will have representatives from the Irish Film Board, Cork Screen Commission, Galway Film Centre and Media Desk.
