Sideline have been commissioned to produce an Irish version of the legendary game show ‘Family Fortunes’. Due to be broadcast in early 2012 on TV3, the show will be hosted by IFTA nominated presenter and Celebrity Salon winner Alan Hughes (Ireland AM).
Based on the original American format ‘Family Feud’ created by Mark Goodson and Bill Todman, the game show sees two families competing against each other in a contest to name the most popular responses to a survey posed to 100 people.
Series producer on the Irish ‘Family Fortunes’ is Billy McGrath (Head Chef, Take Me Out) and producer is Una Shinners (Class Act, The Model Scouts). ‘Family Fortunes’ will begin filming this January in the Mahoney Hall in the Helix, DCU, where Sideline’s hit show ‘Take Me Out’ will also be filming. 20 episodes of each series will be filmed between January 9th and February 4th 2012.
“In that time we hope to deliver 40 hours of primetime entertainment programming and prove that with the best deals and a fantastic production crew produce top class primetime TV for a fraction of the cost that the UK networks spend,” says Series Producer Billy McGrath. Series director is TBC.
Sideline are currently seeking families to take part who will be available through November and December for auditions and studio dates in January 2012. Forms can be accessed at www.tv3.ie/familyfortunes. Closing date is October 24th.
