INDUSTRY | IBEC Reports Another Record Year For Irish AV Industry |
IBEC's Audiovisual Federation launched its 2011 Review of film and television production in Ireland on Monday at their Dublin headquarters. The report covers 261 audiovisual productions completed in Ireland in 2010, with a total production value of €387.9 million - a significant increase of €144.6 million on 2009.

Over twenty Irish companies are register to attend the Mipcom market in Cannes with Enterprise Ireland's 'Ireland on Screen' stand. Irish companies with delegates attending Mipcom include Jam Media (Roy), Big Mountain Productions (The Tenements), Animo Television (The Secret Millionare), Cartoon Saloon (The Secret of Kells) and Screentime ShinAwiL (Masterchef Ireland, The Apprentice).

Principal photography has begun on Irish / Luxembourg / Dutch / Japanese co-production 'Love Eternal'. The new feature began filming on location in Cobh, County Cork in late August and production has moved Luxembourg, where it is due to finish in two weeks time. more |

INDUSTRY | BBC Introduce Minimum Rates for Drama Freelancers |
The BBC are set to introduce minimum pay rate for freelance drama crew, following five year of negotiation with UK media and entertainment trade union Bectu. They are the first British broadcaster to do so.

Celebrating independent, lo/no budget, DIY and artist film, Dublin's Darklight Film Festival will take place this October 20-22nd at The Factory at Grand Canal Dock. The programme includes a range of screenings, workshops, Q&A's, the annual Darklight Symposium and panel discussions.

ANIMATION| 'Fight My Monster' TV Series for Brown Bag Films

Brown Bag Films have teamed up with online game FightMyMonster.com to produce a 3D animated TV series. The 52x11 minute series will be based on the online game for 7-12 year old boys in which gamers create and trade monsters and challenge others to battle. The game was launched in January 2011 and has grown to over 300,000 users in its first six months.
