Over 20 Irish Companies for MIPCOM 2011

Vision Independent Productions' format 'The Restaurant' selling at MIPCOM 2011
Over twenty Irish companies are register to attend the Mipcom market in Cannes with Enterprise Ireland’s ‘Ireland on Screen’ stand. Irish companies with delegates attending Mipcom include Jam Media (Roy), Big Mountain Productions (The Tenements), Animo Television (The Secret Millionare), Cartoon Saloon (The Secret of Kells) and Screentime ShinAwiL (Masterchef Ireland, The Apprentice).

Mipcom runs this year from October 3rd-6th. Enterprise Ireland will host a networking reception at the Ireland on Screen stand on Tuesday October 4th from 5pm.

Warner Bros will be bringing Vision Independent Productions’ (VIP) formats ‘The Restaurant’ and ‘Showhouse’ to the Market. Local versions of the VIP format ‘The Restaurant’ are currently showing in Italy and Germany, and ‘Showhouse’ is on the US on HGTV under the title ‘Showhouse Showdown’.

Target Entertainment will be selling groundbreaking Irish animation series ‘Punky’, made by the recent Cartoon Tributes Producer of The Year Gerard O’Rourke of Monster Animation; and Irish distributor Network Ireland Television are taking a host of projects with them to Mipcom, chief among them being two Titanic products ‘The Titanic Inquiry’ and ‘Titanic, Born in Belfast’.

Brown Bag Films’ Jennie Stacey will bring the company’s recently announced animated series ‘Fight my Monster’, with Fightmymonster.com, whilst Tile Films Stephen Rooke and Keith Farrell will be introducing ‘Waterways’, ‘Saving the Titanic’ and ‘Who Lived in My House’. Other Irish productions to be launched at Mipcom include Telegael’s animated co-production with FFI and DQ Entertainment ‘Franco and Formula Fun’.

Irish companies registered include Inward investment promotion agency IDA and mobile application and software developer Axionista, who will be promoting Ediflow - their flagship TV listing product for broadcasters and online marketplace for content producers to sell their video content VideoElephant.com.

The other registered Irish film and television production, post-production and distribution companies who are sending delegates to MIPCOM are Like it Love it, Intime Media Limited, Magma Productions Molten Rock, Windmill Lane Entertainment, Windmill Lane Pictures, Dublin Film Distributors, Sideline, Waddell Media, Kite Entertainment and the Irish Film Board.
