Imagine Media’s ‘From Our Ireland Correspondent’ is a three-part archive series looking at the 20 years year Denis Murray spent as BBC’s Ireland Correspondent.
Directed by Sean McGuire, the 3x30 minute series is presented by Denis Murray, and follows the timeline of his career from his appointment in 1988 through to his retirement at the end of 2007. During this period, Murray’s job was to translate the violent, complicated and sometimes harrowing events that were happening in Northern Ireland to an audience throughout the United Kingdom and the wider world.
Denis looks back at his own journalism throughout the course of the programmes and details the delicate and difficult transition from conflict to peace in Northern Ireland.
Producers on the series are Sean McGuire and Rachel Hooper. ‘From Our Ireland Correspondent’ filmed on locations in Ireland and London including Dublin Castle, 10 Downing Street and Stormont, Belfast. It was shot on Canon 5D and editing and post-production was carried out at Imagine Media Productions own studio on Lisburn Road, Belfast.
‘From Our Ireland Correspondent’ begins on BBC One Northern Ireland Monday October 3rd at 10.35pm.
