Screen Skills Ireland Announces 'First Steps' Event in Association with IFI Education
19 Nov 2019 : News Sweep
The morning event from Screen Skills Ireland and IFI Education will take place on Wednesday, 18th December, in advance of the Careers in Screen Day, 2020.

First Steps is an event designed to introduce young people to the world of short filmmaking through presentations from three flourishing filmmaking companies. Presenting samples of their work and talking about their paths into the industry, guest speakers from Paper Panther Productions, Tailored Films and Failsafe Films, will each discuss their own career and answer participants’ questions relating to their work and their roles in the industry.

The event is pitched towards young people aged 15-18 who are exploring different career options, perhaps considering third level courses in film, media or TV, or keen to learn from Irish filmmakers about working in the thriving screen industries.

The event is approximately 75 mins, starting at 11:30am on Wednesday 18 December 2019. Admission costs €5 per person and tickets are strictly limited.

To book your ticket please visit the IFI website here
