Ray Winstone’s swashbuckling adventure ‘Moonfleet’ - which has been spotted filming at locations including the King’s Inns and Stag’s Head pub in recent days - is seeking to expand its gang of smugglers with further extras.
50 men aged 21 to 95 with ‘hair past the ears and clean shaven’ are being sought by MovieExtras.ie to appear alongside Winstone and Aneurin Barnard - currently seen in Irish cinemas in Ciaran Foy’s ‘Citadel’.
Costume fittings for the new extras are scheduled for next week.
‘Moonfleet’ is based on the novel of the same name by John Meade Falkner, and follows the sea-faring adventures of a young man desperate to join a band of smugglers led by Winstone’s Elzevir Block on the search for a legendary lost diamond.
Other actors set to appear include Dublin-born Lorcan Cranitch ('Silent Witness', 'Cracker'); Anthony Ofoegbu ('Spooks'); Sophie Cookson; Ben Chaplin ('Mad Dogs'); Omid Djalili ('Gladiator') and Martin Trenaman ('The Inbetweeners').
Executive producers are Huw Kennair-Jones for Sky; John Yorke and Claire Ingham for Company Pictures; Ashley Pharoah and Patrick Spence.
‘Moonfleet’ is directed by Andy de Emmony (‘The Bletchley Circle’) and produced by Dan McCulloch (‘Endeavour’).
The series will consist of two 60 min episodes for airing on Sky 1 later this year.
