The EFA’s annual awards ceremony takes place tomorrow in the National Forum of Music, Wroclaw, Poland, with Lenny Abrahamson’s Oscar-nominated title nominated for Best European Film.
Novelist Emma Donoghue is also nominated in the category of Best European Screenwriter for her own adaptation of ‘Room.’
Donoghue received the IFTA for Best Script for Film and was also Oscar-nominated for her work in 2015.
‘Room’ contends with Ken Loach’s ‘I, Daniel Blake’ in the Best European Film category. Loach’s Palme d’Or Winner is also nominated for Best Director and Best Actor (Dave Johns).
Co-productions ‘The Land of the Enlightened’ and ‘The Lobster’ have respective nominations for Best European Documentary and People’s Choice.
