'Digital Biscuit' Film and TV Conference to Return in January 2014
22 Nov 2013 :
'Thor: The Dark World' director Alan Taylor to attend Digital Biscuit conference in Jan.
The creative media conference ‘Digital Biscuit’ is set to return to Dublin's Science Gallery from the 22nd-24th of January 2014.

The Screen Director's Guild of Ireland officially announced the follow-up to last year’s event at their AGM in Dublin this Thursday 21st November, before an audience of Irish directors including Brian Kirk ('Game of Thrones'), Maurice Sweeney ('A Story With Me In It') and SDGI board members Conor Horgan ('One Hundred Mornings') and Paddy Breathnach ('I Went Down').

As a meeting forum for key figures in the audio-visual industry, Digital Biscuit 2013 featured a programme of seminars, technology exhibitions and practical workshops with special guests including Jim Sheridan and David Yates ('Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix’).

Next January's event will see the Science Gallery's Paccar Theatre host a number of technological expositions in the KinoPlay Area, with one highlight being an appearance by Christian Fonnesbech, director of multimedia project 'Cloud Chamber' - which fuses social media, gaming and film elements to drive a mystery narrative.

SDGI Chairman Ciaran Donnelly said: ‘The aim is to make directors and people generally aware of the most up to date digital technologies in film making and indeed TV production, to improve the production capabilities of our most talented creators from the simplest ideas to the highest budgets.’

Digital Biscuit 2014 will also host, as its honorary guest, director Alan Taylor ('Game of Thrones', 'Thor: The Dark World') who will take part in an informal discussion about his life and work to date.

Tickets for January's event go on sale today, November 21st and can be purchased online at: here.

Earlybird tickets at €80 will be on sale until November 28th only.

Further information on programming and workshop registration is available on the Digital Biscuit website or by contacting Leah Hughes at 0863664089.
