BAFTA has announced the nominees for the 2018 Television Awards with ‘Line of Duty’ & Catastrophe leading the way alongside Netflix productions ‘The Crown’ & ‘Black Mirror’.
Sharon Horgan is nominated for ‘Best Female Performance in a Comedy Program’ in Channel 4’s ‘Catastrophe’ series, which is currently filming its 4th season. Horgan has also been nominated in the ‘Scripted Comedy’ category along with her writing partner Rob Deleney. The show is produced by Avalon Television, Birdbath Productions, Channel 4, and Horgans’s Merman Films.
BBC’s Northern Irish police drama ‘Line of Duty’ has received three nominations including on for ‘Best Drama Series’. Produced by World Productions and BBC One, the series also saw a nomination for Fermanagh born actor Adrian Dunbar in the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ category.
ITV’s ‘Little Boy Blue’ series picked up two nominations, both of which were for performances by Irish actors. One of which was Sinead Keenan who was nominated in the ‘Leading Actress’ category, while Brian F. O’Byrne received a nomination for ‘Best Supporting Actor’. ‘Little Boy Blue’ is produced by ITV Studios.
The ceremony will take place at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday May 13th.
