RTÉ's 'Fair City' star Pat Nolan has won the Best Soap Actor Award at the Rose d’Or Festival in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Pat was nominated with Lorenzo Lamas from US soap Opera ‘The Bold and The Beautiful’. Nolan, who plays Barry O'Hanlon in the series,

received the award for his portrayal of the former school principal who suffered a nervous breakdown after the loss of his job.
The big winners on the night were David Walliams & Matt Lucas from Little Britain picking up two awards, Best Comedy and Best Male Comedy Performance. Sir Bob Geldolf was presented with the Rose d’Or Charity Award by UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and human rights campaigner, Harry Belafonte. The award was presented to comemorate the 20th Anniversary of Live Aid and to honor his years of political activism and humanitarianism.
