The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has released its most recent broadcasting complaints decisions - in which the Compliance Committee upheld two complaints and rejected four others.
Eight additional complaints were resolved by the Executive Complaints Forum.
The two complaints upheld by BAI Compliance Committee related to RTE Radio One’s Liveline on 5th March 2013, in which the discussion focused on an article in Catholic newspaper 'Alive' which compared Enda Kenny to King Herod.
The four complaints rejected were in respect of the following: RTE One’s ‘Prime Time’ on 2nd October 2012 and 15th November 2012; RTÉ Radio One’s ‘Liveline’ on 4th February 2013; and RTE One’s ‘The Late Late Show’ on 1st February 2013.
The eight complaints resolved by the Executive Complaints Forum were made against following programmes: Highland Radio’s ‘The Morning Show’ on 10th January 2013; TV3’s ‘The Morning Show’ on 8th February 2013; 2FM’s ‘Tubridy Show’ on 6th February 2013; RTE One’s ‘Love/Hate’ on 2nd , 9th & 16th December 2012; RTE One’s ‘Coal, Frankenstein and Mirror: An Irish Nativity’ on 17th December 2012; and RTE One’s ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ on 25th December 2012.

The Broadcasting Act 2009 gives viewers and listeners the right to complain about broadcasting content which they believe is not in keeping with the BAI’s broadcasting codes and rules - which must first be directed to the broadcaster within 30 days of the date of the broadcast.
