On Tuesday night, the broadcaster confirmed the existence of two more barter accounts, in addition to what the Oireachtais was told last week.
These accounts have been used to fund €1.6 million on client entertainment and corporate hospitality over a 10 year period - approximately €150,000 per year between 2012 and 2022.
RTÉ have told the Oireachtais they generated €1.65bn in commercial income during this period.
RTÉ’s three barter accounts are held at the barter agencies Miroma, Active and Astus.
One of RTE’s barter accounts was used to pay over €2,300 for membership of Soho House in London, a members-only accommodation and meeting space, on the basis it could be used as a base for meetings in the UK.
€9,000 was spent on hospitality at the Aviva stadium for tickets to see Harry Styles, Westlife and the Eagles, and another €4,000 on tickets and hospitality for the Garth Brooks concerts in Croke Park.
€111,000 was spent on travel to the 2019 Rugby World Cup, for clients who had spent €38m with RTE in 2018.
The news of two additional barter accounts comes after RTÉ CFO Richard Collins told the Public Accounts Committee last week that “there is only one barter account”.
