‘Mattress Men’ and ‘Crash & Burn’ editor John Murphy on not “taking short cuts with real life”
27 May 2016 | It has been a hell of a year for Irish documentaries; Colm Quinn’s ‘Mattress Men’ and Seán Ó Cualáin's ‘Crash and Burn’ (both cut by Murphy) are both selected for the 2016 Sheffield Doc/Fest next month, with ‘Mattress Men’ screening last month to extremely positive reviews at Hot Docs in Toronto.

05 May 2016 | The competition titles for the 2016 Sheffield Doc/Fest have been revealed with Irish documentaries ‘Bobby Sands: 66 Days’ and ‘The Land of the Enlightened’ both selected in competition for the festival’s grand jury prize while 'Mattress Men' and 'Crash and Burn' will also screen. Short film 'The Grey Area' is also screening and has been nominated for the Student Documentary Award.

Hot Docs: Fine Point launches €500k Silver Fund with Toronto Based Fadoo Productions
05 May 2016 | News from Hot Docs in Toronto where Northern Ireland production company Fine Point Films has teamed up with Toronto based Fadoo Productions in a new development initiative called ‘The Silver Fund’ which has the potential to invest up to (US) $500,000 (£345,000) over two years in documentaries, with up to (US) $50,000 (£35,000) available per project.
