The Dublin Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People is currently recruiting film critic jury panels of 8-18 year olds from all over Ireland to watch and judge a series of films from around the world during the Festival this May.
Over two days the jury will meet in Cineworld Cinemas Parnell Street where they will learn how to review and critique before choosing the winning films of the weekend.
Chris Shaw, Cinemagic Festival Programmer said: “The young film critics jury offers young people the chance to meet others with a similar passion for film, to discuss and debate, and to make new friends, whilst expanding their understanding of the different genres of film.”
The juries are divided into three age groups and will meet from 10am-3pm each day:
- 8-11 year olds will be in the CineSeekers Jury (Sat 14th and Sun 15th May)
- 12-14 year olds will make up the CineFocus Jury (Sat 21st and Sun 22nd May)
- 15-18 year olds should apply for the CineFocus Jury (Sat 21st and Sun 22nd May)
To register, download a Dublin registration form from www.cinemagic.ie and return to Cinemagic, (Belfast admin address: 49 Botanic Ave, Belfast BT7 1JL) or email Claire@cinemagic.ie by Friday, 29th April.
The cost to participate is €10.00 per person payable in advance to Cinemagic to reserve a place. The jury weekends are a cross-border initiative.
