Cinemagic Belfast CineFocus and CineSeekers in association with Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People is recruiting a cross-border jury panels of 6-11 year olds and 12-25 year olds to watch and judge a series of films from around the world during the Cinemagic Belfast 2014 Festival programme.
The under 12s CineSeekers member will meet from 3rd-5th Oct (6-7 yr olds), 4th, 11th, 12th Oct (8-11 yr olds) and the 12-25 yr old CineFocus members will meet from 21st-23rd November in festival cinemas in Belfast where they will enjoy a feast of film, learn how to review and critique, and choose the winning films of the festival which will be announced at the closing night of each festival programme
Cinemagic film jury members will have the opportunity to meet other young film fans, learn about the role of the film critic, meet filmmakers and festival guests and play an important in Cinemagic Belfast, with this year marking the Festival’s 25th Anniversary.
Chris Shaw, Cinemagic Festival Programmer said “Jury members will play a key role in our 25th Anniversary Festival. The Cinemagic jury offers young people the chance to meet others with a similar passion for film, to discuss and debate, and to make new friends, whilst expanding their understanding of the different genres of film.”

The cost to participate is €10.00 or £10.00 per child. Travel to and from the cinema is the responsibility of a parent/guardian but Cinemagic can suggest hotels/b&b accommodation in Belfast. Each day typically runs from 10.00am-5.00pm with breaks for lunch and discussions included in the schedule. The jury is open to all young people from Ireland.
