The New York Film Fleadh has expanded its Shorts Night to include award winning Celtic Short films from Ireland and Scotland. A Wee CRAIC is a prequel to THE CRAIC festival which is incorporating the best of Celtic Music and Film next March.
A Wee CRAIC! 4th Annual Shorts Night is presented by Glasgow: Scotland with Style! on September 23rd in New York City. Stars to attend include actor Andrew McCarthy (his directorial debut and
award winning short ‘News for the Church’ will screen @ Shorts Night). Shorts to
keep an eye on are recent Galway Fleadh award winners: ‘Dublin 1’ (Directed by Jason Tammemagi), ‘Behind the Music’ (Directed by Colm Russell) and ‘od’s Early Work’ (Directed by Rory Bresnihan) to name a few.
The 2004 Shorts Night has an eclectic lineup of award winning international "
shorts" from the Tribeca Festival, Scottish Screen and the Galway Fleadh.
Festival Director Terence Mulligan noted the all Celtic Expansion of the Shorts Night "…is a prequel of what’s to come for our 2nd Annual CRAIC festival in March 05. The merging of film and music is something we will continue to build on and it’s a great way to end the summer."
A portion of the proceeds will be going to the NY Firefighters Burn Center Foundation. (This is their 5th year of working with the BURN CENTER).
