Irish Director, Andrew Baird has signed to My Film in Budapest for commercial and music video representation in the Hungarian market.
Baird's commercials producer will be Jenö Vass who has a decade of commercial production expierience in the local market. The outfit also represents a german director, a czech director, 2 local directors and 2 animation directors. The shop houses three producers to work with the roster of directors.
This sees the first ever signing of an Irish Commercials Director to a Hungarian Commercial Production Company. Baird was nominated as Best Director in 2002 by the Institute of Creative Advertising and Design, ICAD for the spot, U.S.I.T. NOW, The Orient which he directed for McConnells Advertising in Dublin. He is represented by Red Rage Films for the Irish market.
Meetings begin with the Agency Creatives in Hungary next week which will culminate in a party hosted by My Film on September 9th to offically announce the signing.
The party will be attended by all the major Agency creatives and My Film's roster of directors and producers.
My Film has worked with all the major Agencies in Budapest including Sattchi's, Young and Rubicam, McCann Erickson, Lowe Lintas, BBDO etc.
Baird says he is “looking forward to getting a real taste of the local advertising scene.”
Baird is also working on his debut feature film and a detailed official announcement on the horror movie, entitled ‘A Plague of Spiders’ will be posted shortly.
