Principal photography has commenced in Dublin on ‘ Boy Eats Girl’,
a comedy horror about a teenage date that goes disastrously wrong, bringing
bloody mayhem to suburbia. Directed by Stephen Bradley and starring Samantha
Mumba.

‘Boy Eats Girl’ is written by Derek Landy (‘Dead Bodies’) and produced by Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe (‘Omagh’, ‘The Magdalene Sisters’). The film boasts a talented young cast including International pop and film star Samantha Mumba (‘The Time Machine’) playing the role of Jessica, and David Leon (‘TV’s Cutting It, Alexander’) as Nathan the lovesick teenager who has fallen head over heels for her.
The production team began shooting on the 26th of July in Dublin, Ireland and will continue for 3 weeks, followed by a further 3 weeks of production on the Isle of Man. Director Stephen Bradley says "I'm thrilled to be in production with the guys at Element Films on 'Boy Eats Girl’ and am looking forward to working with the excellent cast and crew we have assembled for the film. I am also hoping that the shoot will be more comedy than horror but that the final film will be an entertaining mix of both”. Producers Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe are equally excited about working on the project “We've assembled a fantastic cast and crew and are looking forward to making what we hope will be a very entertaining film for a teen audience”.
The team also includes Director of Photography Balazs Bolygo (‘Fakers’), Production Designer Anna Rackard (‘Ella Enchanted’) and Editors Dermot Diskin and Ben Yeates. Executive Producers Ralph Kamp, Louise Goodsill of Odyssey Entertainment are extremely happy with their acquisition “We all loved the script which oozes humour, horror and heart in equal measure...we're delighted to be involved with Ed, Andrew, Stephen and everyone at Element and have no doubt they'll deliver a film that does justice to the title's promise."
‘Boy Eats Girl’ is an Irish/UK co-production between Element Films and Lunar Films. It is funded by the Irish Film Board, Isle of Man Film Ltd , Section 481 Sale & Leaseback, Bank of Ireland and a number of international distributors. The film will be distributed internationally by Odyssey Entertainment Ltd.
