The solicitor Gordon Judge has left KMB to set up an independent service, providing a flexible commercially orientated legal service to both private and commercial clients, many of whom are in the film and music industries.
Judge has worked in California and in Ireland and for a number of years worked for in-house for an international distributor and film sales agent. The objective of the new firm, Gordon Judge & Co., Solicitors, is to make available to producers and rights holders a high level of hands on personalised service.
He has advised on the financing, production and distribution of many film and television projects made in Ireland in recent years and has represented the interests of producers and financiers, including providers of Section 481 finance, to include:
- Dead Bodies, directed by Robert Quinn
- Goldfish Memory, directed by Liz Gill
- Evelyn, directed by Bruce Beresford and starring Pierce Brosnan
- The Oscar Wilde Trilogy – a series of animated films being produced by TerraGlyph Productions for Channel 4
- The Island of Inis Cool – a 26 part animated television series being produced by TerraGlyph Productions for TG 4 and der Kinder Kanal von ARD und ZDF

Judge has specialist knowledge in the areas of the use of music and other copyright works in films and the negotiation of international distribution agreements. Gordon is a member of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers and regularly attends international industry events. He is a board member of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.
