Telegael, the Spiddal based television group has received 2004 Prix Juenesse and Emmy Award nominations for its animated television series ‘Tutenstein’.
The series, a
co-production with Porchlight Entertainment (Los Angeles), Nic Entertainment
(Korea) and Discovery Channel, is a 26 x half-hour animated series about a
ten-year-old boy mummy who is struck by lightning and brought back to life
in a modern-day museum in a large metropolitan city.
It is currently being aired coast to coast in the US on NBC as part
of the Discovery Kids Block on Saturday mornings. Fox Kids Europe has
acquired the distribution rights for all of Europe and the series is
currently being broadcast in the UK on ITV and an Irish
language version of the series is also being produced by the Gaeltacht based
company.
All the post-production on the series, including
music composition, foley, sound mixing and picture editing was handled by Telegael.
Look out for ‘Tutenstein’ at the Daytime Emmy Creative Arts Awards on Saturday, May 15 and the Prix Juenesse Awards held in Germany, June 2004.
