Irish horror film Double Blind will be released in Irish cinemas on Friday 9th February. The official trailer for the feature directorial debut from Ian Hunt-Duffy has launched today.
Double Blind will be released in Irish cinemas next month, following its run on the festival circuit last year. The Irish horror film, director Ian Hunt Duffy’s feature directorial debut, had its world premiere at Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) last year and went on to screen at numerous festivals including Leeds Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, Galway Film Fleadh and Belfast Film Festival.
The film follows seven young test subjects who must face a terrifying side effect when an experimental drug trial goes horribly wrong: if you fall asleep you die. Trapped in an isolated medical facility, they must find a way to escape, and somehow manage to stay awake.
Double Blind was written by screenwriter Darach McGarrigle, and stars Millie Brady (Roadkill), Pollyanna McIntosh (Apocalypse Clown), Diarmuid Noyes (Pure Mule: The Last Weekend), Akshay Kumar (Count Abdulla), Brenock O'Connor (Game of Thrones), Abby Fitz (Redemption), Shonagh Marie (Britannia), and Frank Blake (Cherry). The feature was filmed in Limerick and Dublin
Produced by Simon James Doyle for Dublin-based production company Failsafe Films in association with Los Angeles-based indie genre production company Epic Pictures Group and Screen Ireland, Double Blind is the latest in a succession of Irish co-productions that Epic Pictures Group has been a part of. Previous notable titles include The Cellar starring Elisha Cuthbert, Extra Ordinary, starring Will Forte and comedian Maeve Higgins, and Neasa Hardiman’s feature directorial debut Sea Fever, starring Connie Nielsen, Hermione Corfield, and Dougray Scott.
