The next film from director Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things, The Favourite) has been renamed. The upcoming project sees Lanthimos reteam with frequent collaborators Element Pictures and Emma Stone.
AND, the next film from Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos following the Golden Lion-winning Poor Things, has been renamed to Kind of Kindness. This will mark Lanthimos’ fifth collaboration with Irish production company Element Pictures, and his fourth with actor Emma Stone. The screenplay was co-written by Lanthimos and Efthimis Filippou (The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer), and developed by Element Pictures and Film4.
“This is our fifth film with Yorgos and we are delighted to re-unite once again with Searchlight and Film4 on this brilliant script by Yorgos and Efthimis,” said Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe of Element Pictures in a statement. “Yorgos has drawn an incredible cast and crew and we are dying to get started.”
Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe will produce the film for Element Pictures alongside Kasia Malipan and Lanthimos. Ollie Madden and Daniel Battsek are executive producing for co-financier Film4.
While plot details are still under wraps, the film's cast consists of Poor Things stars Margaret Qualley and Willem Dafoe, The Favourite actor Joe Alwyn, as well as Jesse Plemons (Killers of the Flower Moon), Hong Chau (The Whale), and Hunter Schafer (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes). Kind of Kindness is currently in post-production after filming in October 2022 in New Orleans.
