Universal has released the official trailer for upcoming thriller The Lesson, starring Daryl McCormack (Bad Sisters), Richard E. Grant (Withnail & I), and Julie Delpy (Richard Linklater’s Before trilogy).

The Daryl McCormack-led thriller is the joint debut feature of director Alice Troughton and writer Alex MacKeith, and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year.

The Lesson follows a young author who takes a tutoring position at the estate of a legendary writer, only to discover that not all is as it seems.

The film is produced by Camille Gatin (The Girl with All the Gifts), Cassandra Sigsgaard (Nina Forever), Judy Tossell (Hector and the Search for Happiness), and Fabien Westerhoff (Dance First), with executive producing from Andrew Karpen (The Art of Self-Defense), Jens Meurer (Black Book), and Kent Sanderson (Captain Valedor).

The Lesson releases in cinemas on September 22nd.
