Cinemagic has launched its search for a young trainee film production crew for the 2023 Cross Border Short Film Academy supported by The Department of Education Ireland.
From July to September, a series of film masterclasses and pre-production masterclasses will culminate in the production of a short film made by teenagers under the guidance of industry professionals.
Participants, from Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, aged 15-18, will have the chance to develop their talents in a range of production areas and earn a credit on the production. Cinemagic is looking for committed, talented and creative young people.
The successful applicants will participate in a programme of practical training and the opportunity will provide the young filmmakers with an insight to all aspects of filmmaking and the essential skills required on set.

We are looking for young people from all backgrounds to come together on a cross-border project and work on a common goal and illustrate what can be achieved working as a team on this innovative opportunity.”

Interviews for places on the project will take place on the morning of 13th July. There is no cost to participating in the programme however participants will be required to arrange their own travel and cover the cost of travel to the in-person events.
