Production sound mixer Ronan Hill has received his eighth Cinema Audio Society nomination for his work on Game of Thrones alongside Belfast based Simon Kerr and Cork based Danny Crowley.

Hill, who has been nominated for every season of the show, is nominated for season 8 “The Bells” alongside production sound mixers Simon Kerr, Danny Crowley with re-recording mixers Onnalee Blank, Mathew Waters and foley mixer Brett Voss. The CAS nomination comes following the team’s Primetime Emmy award win for GOT back in September, which Hill shared with Kerr and Crowley. It was Simon and Danny’s first Emmy win and Ronan’s fifth, having previously won four Primetime Emmy’s for the show.

We caught up with Hill after the Emmys win and Season eight of GOT airing to reflect on his success on the HBO show.

Speaking with IFTN this morning, Ronan said; “I am delighted with the nomination which is recognition of the hard work and dedication of the entire sound team. I hope to travel to Los Angeles for the awards which will be the last hurrah for Game of Thrones.”

Hill and his team have won the previous five Cinema Audio Society Awards consecutively, all coming in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing. Last year saw Hill win for his work as Production Sound Mixer on Game of Thrones season 7, episode 6 “Beyond the Wall”.

The Awards will be presented at a sealed envelope dinner on January 25th in the Wilshire Grand Ballroom of the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown.
