Of the selected projects, two are documentaries, one is intended for children and youth and two are drama series.

To be eligible for funding, the selected projects were required to be intended for broadcast by eligible Irish and Canadian broadcasters, involving at least one Irish producer and one Canadian producer. The incentive seeks to fund television projects (and digital media extensions of such television projects), which fulfil both the guidelines of the CMF and the objectives and themes of the BAI’s Sound & Vision Scheme.  Projects were evaluated and chosen by a selection committee composed of representatives from both funding organisations.

About the BAI

The BAI is the regulator of broadcasting in Ireland. It also has a key role in developing and supporting the broadcasting sector in Ireland. There is currently a range of funding supports and initiatives in place, through which the BAI fulfils this role. Sound & Vision Ancillary Measures, such as the fund outlined above, are provided for under Section 5.6 of the Broadcasting Funding Scheme. These measures are designed and implemented in order to support the achievement of the objectives of the Scheme.
