Jackie Chan Set to Take on Pierce Brosnan in ‘The Foreigner’

The Foreigner
‘The Foreigner,’ which sees Jackie Chan return to cinema screens to take on Pierce Brosnan and the IRA is due for release October 13th.

The film is based on Stephen Leather’s 1992 bestselling thriller ‘The Chinaman,’ which sees a former highly skilled mercenary (Jackie Chan) go on a manhunt to find his daughter’s killers after she is murdered by an IRA Bomb that goes off in the prosperous area of Knightsbridge, London.

The highly anticipated action thriller boasts a host of Irish talent including Pierce Brosnan who plays Politician and former IRA member, Liam Hennessy. Other names include Charlie Murphy, Michael McElhatton, Orla Brady, David Pearse, Rory Fleck Byrne and Stephen Hogan.

The film which wrapped at the end of August is directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) and is written by David Marconi (Enemy of the State) and Stephen Leather (The Chinaman). The Film is produced by Jackie Chan, Wayne Marc Godfrey and Claire Kupchak, and executive produced by Oren Aviv, Adam Fogelson and David Marconi.

‘The Foreigner’ is a SR Media Production and will be on general release Friday, October 13th.
