Gerard Barrett’s ‘Honey’ sells to FX and Fox
16 Jun 2017 : Katie McNeice
The ‘Pilgrim Hill’, ‘Smalltown’ and ‘Brain on Fire’ writer/director has sold the one-hour drama, which is currently in development.

Details are not yet released on the story bar its setting against the backdrop of the world of corporate espionage.

Barrett will develop the show through his company Blank Page out of Los Angeles and Dublin.

He received the Rising Star award from the Irish Film & Television Academy in 2013 and has since earned nominations for both Best Script and Best Director for ‘Glassland’. His most recent project ‘Brain on Fire’ is based on a true story and stars Chloë Grace Moretz as Susannah Cahalan, a journalist who cannot explain her new, erratic behaviour.

Gerard Barrett:
“I’m beyond excited and honoured to work with the most talented and ambitious people in Television Drama. Look at the shows FX have produced recently, ‘Fargo’, ‘The Americans’ and ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ to name but a few. I can’t wait to go on this journey with FX and bring ‘Honey’ to life in a bold and ambitious manner”.

The ‘Pilgrim Hill’, ‘Smalltown’ and ‘Brain on Fire’ writer/director has sold the one-hour drama, which is currently in development.
