The title which premiered at ADIFF explores the art and process of Coogan as she undertakes a live six-week durational exhibition hosted by Dublin’s RHA Gallery, for which she performed for six hours a day, five days a week.
‘Amanda Coogan: Long Now’ is produced by Lynette Moran and Tal Green and will screen at the IFI, Templebar on Tuesday May 9th and 23rd at 6:30pm, each time followed by a Q&A session.
Paddy Cahill, Director:
“The film is narrated by Amanda using excerpts from a public talk she gave in the past year. As Amanda outlines how she approaches her live performances, she also reveals why she was drawn to performance art and how Sign Language is the inspiration for many of her works. These performances – that are often challenging but always beautiful – are intersected with footage of Amanda on her way into the gallery for a performance.”
