Nominations for the 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced on Wednesday morning, 14th December.
The SAG Awards recognise top performances in television and and film, the award ceremony will take place on January 29th 2017.
The HBO drama series is nominated in the ‘Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series’ category alongside ‘The Crown, ‘Downton Abbey’, ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Westworld.
‘Game of Thrones’ also received a nomination in the ‘Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series’ category which includes ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’, ‘Marvel’s Luke Cage’, ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Westworld’.
Actor Peter Dinklage is also nominated in the ‘Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series’ for his role in ‘Game of Thrones’.
Filming is currently underway for ‘Game of Thrones' season seven, including shooting locations in Northern Ireland. The drama set to premiere in summer 2017.
