South Eastern Creative Corridor launched by LEO Wicklow

The launch marks the first in a series of events in a programme designed to nurture to audio visual industry in the region, and took place on the set of upcoming film ‘I Kill Giants.’

Funding was secured for the programme by The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) in Wicklow, in collaboration with Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford and Tipperary Local Enterprise Offices.

Its objective is to support those SMEs and entrepreneurs selling services or products to the film industry in the region, or to those who are operating within the film sector to develop, internationalise and generate employment opportunities.

Participating companies will be supported through networking, mentoring and training programme including opportunities to access finance for their business plans.

Oscar-winning Anders Walter (Katusha) and Kim Magnusson (Helium) launched the programme, accompanied by Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring 2), Rory Jackson and Sydney Wade (Happy Valley).

Mary Mitchell O’Connor, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation:
“All of the regions in Ireland have core individual attributes that position them to be key contributors to Ireland’s economic growth and employment creation. Our focus for the regions is to harness the huge potential and particular opportunities through a collaborative approach to innovative projects that will result in more jobs. With the help of the 5 LEOs in the region, the South Eastern Creative Corridor programme will build on the unique strengths of the film industry in this region.”
