Jack Reynor joins the cast of upcoming feature ‘Kin’
31 Aug 2016 : Katie McNeice
The IFTA-winning Irish actor will star alongside James Franco (127 Hours), Zoe Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Dennis Quaid (Fortitude).

Brothers Jonathan and Josh Baker are set to direct the sci-fi thriller written by Daniel Casey, and based on their short film ‘Bag Man’, which premiered at SXSW 2015.

Sean Levy and Dan Cohen from 21 Laps, are set to produce alongside No Trace Camping team Jeff Arkuss, David Gross and Jesse Shapira.

‘Kin’ will expand upon the original concept of ‘Bag Man’, which sees a recently released ex-con (Reynor) and his adopted younger brother go on the run. The pair are pursued by both criminals and sci-fi soldiers. It is estimated the project will go into production in October of this year, pending a push for funding at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.

The original short, Bag Man, premiered at SXSW last year and drew praise, which has led to a deal with Shawn Levy's 21 Laps company and No Trace Camping, the production company behind Room.

Reynor’s other recent work includes his supporting role as Brendan in John Carney’s ‘Sing Street’, which earned him his second IFTA Award in April of this year.
