‘Boogaloo and Graham’ director Michael Lennox invited to join AMPAS

Northern Irish filmmaker Michael Lennox, who directed the BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated short film ‘Boogaloo and Graham’, has been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Lennox is one of 322 people to be invited this year, with the list including actors Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Emma Stone, Chris Pine and Dev Patel, as well as filmmakers Damian Chazelle and Edgar Wright.

Michael’s short film ‘Boogaloo and Graham’ was nominated for an Oscar earlier this year, as well as an IFTA Award and BAFTA Award, picking up the award at the latter ceremony. Written by Ronan Blaney and produced by Brian J Falconer, the story follows two young boys who discover the facts of life with the help of their pet chickens. Charlene McKenna (‘Ripper Street’) and Martin McCann (‘The Survivalist’) co-star playing the roles of the young boy’s parents who announce they are expecting another child.

Michael’s first feature length film ‘A Patch of Fog’ is currently in in post-production and stars Stephen Graham and Conleth Hill.
