Post Production TV and Film facility Screen Scene has been nominated for a Visual Effects Society (VES) award for its work on Amazon Prime and BBC Drama ‘Ripper Street’.
Screen Scene has been short listed in the Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Visual Effects Photoreal/Live action Broadcast Program category. This is the facility’s third nomination in four years.
The Dublin based company will go up against a very high standard of competition with the likes of ‘Black Sails’, ‘Penny Dreadful (which is shot in Ardmore Studios) and ‘American Horror Story’ amongst those short-listed.
Screen Scene have been nominated specifically for their work on Episode One of the third series which is entitled ‘Whitechapel Terminus’. In this episode they were tasked with transforming the English Countryside into the industrial outskirts and inner city slums of 1890’s London.
With all productions that require VFX the goal is to support or enhance the visual desire of the director. With ‘Ripper Street’, Screen Scene stated that ensuring that the locations were established and recognized as London was their ultimate mandate.
Screen Scene also has three films screening at the Sundance Film Festival with ‘Glassland’, ‘The Hallow’ and ‘The Visit’ being post-produced at the facility.
‘Ripper Street’ was mainly shot in Dublin for London based production company Tiger Aspect.
