TV3 Group launches TV3+1
02 Dec 2014 : Seán Brosnan
TV3 has launched TV3+1 which is available now on UPC channel 119. TV3+1 will broadcast 24 hours a day with a full delayed one hour feed of the main TV3 service, providing consumers with a second opportunity to see their favourite shows.

TV3 is the second most watched channel in the Republic of Ireland with some of the most popular shows in the market. From January 2015, TV3 is launching a brand new schedule which includes 15 new shows and Ireland’s first new soap in over 20 years, ‘Red Rock’. This will see TV3’s schedule exceed 50% home-produced content for the first time.

TV3 also recently confirmed Republic of Ireland exclusivity for UK shows such ‘The X Factor’, ‘Downton Abbey’, ‘Broadchurch’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. In autumn 2015, TV3 will also be the exclusive broadcaster of the Rugby World Cup 2015.

Jeff Ford, TV3 Group Director of Content, said: ‘The introduction of TV3+1 allows busy Irish families a second opportunity to view their favourite shows. I expect this launch combined with our new schedule will boost TV3’s audience share even further through 2015. When allied to 3e’s success as Ireland’s fastest growing digital channel, TV3 Group channels will continue to lead for both viewers and advertisers.’

Bill Blake, UPC Ireland’s Head of Strategy and Content said: ‘UPC is delighted to offer our customers a great range of connected entertainment. The addition of TV3+1 is another example of giving viewers the freedom to watch TV on their time and using technology which is reinventing the way they enjoy TV.’

TV3+1 is available now on UPC Channel 119.
